Mary L. Lee, 83, of Holly Hill, FL passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2023. She was born September 3, 1939, in Jacksonville, IL. She was married to the late Robert E. Lee, Sr. He passed away December 9, 1999. They were married for 44 years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Lula (Nee Miller) Back; sister Grace Kasmer; her son Kenneth D. Lee; and Granddaughter Kaitlyn Lee; and her brother-in-law; John Hull.
Surviving are her children Robert E. Jr. (Ann) Lee of Waterloo, IL; James A. Lee of Holly Hill, FL; Michael W. (Lisa) Lee of Bartow, FL; her sister Carol Hull of Georgia; her brother Wayne (Karen) Back of FL.
Mary had 10 surviving grandchildren; Amanda Liefer; Andrew (Samantha) Lee; Zachary Lee; Christina Miller (Christopher); Matthew Lee; Jennifer (Brent) Meyer; Karen Lee; Mariah Houchin; Austin Lee; and Nicole Lee.
She also leaves 13 great grandchildren; Colton and Kadin Liefer; Jace and Easton Lee; Guy (Sully) Lee; Minka and Mayim Miller; Zayne and Katy Lee; Kylie (Ty); Landon and McKenna Houchin; and Asher Lee. Along with many Nieces and Nephews and dear friends.
Mary lived most of her life in Illinois. She raised her sons there. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She moved to Florida for warmer temps and the ocean breeze and sounds.
With her passing she requested for her remains to be buried next to her husband in Illinois. She loved her family very much and she will be truly missed by all.
The family will have a graveside service for her on June 12, 2023. (Time TBD) at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville, IL.
