Mary Berdoukas Ioannidis, 78 of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. She was born March 14, 1938 in Hartford, CT to John and Penelope Berdoukas.
Mary graduated from Buckley H.S. and went on to obtain her Associates from Conn. Junior College. She was employed at the Connecticut Bank & Trust, Stock Transfer Division for several years before relocating to Daytona Beach, where she opened the Original Stavro's Pizza on South Beach Street over forty years ago.
Mary was a parishioner at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church; she was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and Ladies Philoptochos Society, and Treasurer at Ocean Eight
She is survived by her sisters, Katherine B. Nicolaou, Ormond Beach, Paula B. DeTuccio , West Hartford, CT, a niece, Penelope (Greg) Rosenbloom, three great-nephews, Alex, Aiden, and Nicholas all of Chicago, IL
Mary was preceded in death by her nephew, Leonidas "Lonnie" Nicolaou
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 20th between the hours of 4:30 -6:30 pm with the Trisagion Service at 5:30 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 21st at 12:00 pm at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 129 N. Halifax Ave. Daytona Beach. Interment will be held in Conn.
