Mary "Vera" Hood, 88, a former Florida resident, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH. Services were held on Saturday. August 22 at Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson. A Graveside Service will be in Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery in Daytona Beach at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 25.

Vera was born March 25 1921 in Ireland daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (McVeigh) McCluskey. Prior to her retirement in 1976 she was employed with the Veterans Administration in West Roxbury MA for 18 years. She moved to Florida in 1979 and moved to Hudson in 2008.

She was predeceased by her two husbands Leo Houle in 1989 and Robert E. Hood in 2008. She was also predeceased by two sisters and one brother. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including those who provided care for her over the past several years; Joseph and Jennie Manning and William and Patricia Manning, all of Hudson.
