Obituary

Mary Kathleen Driscoll, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and retired nurse, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Ormond Beach, Florida surrounded by her family. She was 75 years old.

Born in Staten Island, New York, in 1949, Mary dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her personal and professional life. A proud and compassionate nurse, she served veterans at the Veterans Administration Hospitals in Brooklyn, New York, and Allentown, Pennsylvania. Mary was deeply committed to her patients and took great pride in her work, always treating those in her care with dignity, warmth, and kindness.

Mary shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, John, who preceded her in death. Together, they raised their son, John Jr., and later delighted in the joy of being grandparents to John III. Her family was the heart of her world, and she embraced her roles as mother and grandmother with immense love and grace. Her immediate and extended family were very important to her as well as her 'family of patients' that she cared for as a registered nurse.

In her younger years, Mary had a spirited sense of adventure. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and water skiing, embracing life with energy and enthusiasm. In retirement, she found a new passion in golf, spending many joyful hours on the course with her friends in their community. She cherished those moments of camaraderie and competition and found great happiness in her later years.

Mary is survived by her son, John Driscoll Jr. (Deborah); her beloved grandson, John Driscoll III; and her brother, William Finn. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Driscoll, and her parents, William and Harriet Finn.

A Catholic Mass in Mary's memory will be held at 1 PM on Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at St. Brendan The Navigator Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32176. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate her life.
