Mary Carolyn Dove August 10, 1929 - October 19 , 2020

Mary was born in Greensboro, AL on August 10, 1929. She m oved to Washington , DC at the age of 17 to obtain a job and subsequently met her future husband, Leo B. Dove.

M ary was a devote d military wife and mother of 5 children, wh o moved her family, sometimes single handedly, around the Uni ted States to accommodate Leo ' s assignments. Upon Leo's military retirement, the family relocated to Bowie, MD . With all their children being of school age , Mary worked part - time in the Prince George's County Public School System which affor ded her time to attend to the family's busy schedule. Leo retired a second time and moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1976 where the family has since resided . Upon their arrival in Daytona Beach , Mary worked part - time in the Volusia County School System and retired in 1994 . Sh e was also actively involved with the Disabled Veterans A ssociation until 2007 .

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved hu sband, Leo, in 1997, and her daughter, Y vonne, in 2016. She is survived by her children , Cheryl Polen (Bill) , Michael Dove , Lynda Watson and Carol Craig (Kevin). She also is survived by her grandchildren, A nastasia Brogan (Kellen) , Devon Craig, Lauren Dove and Mckenzie Watson, and great grandchildren, Stella Brogan, Addison Brogan and Mason Brogan. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers at the Brookdale Port Orange Facility and everyone associated with VITAS Hospice. A family grave site service will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 . In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to VITAS Healthcare Hospice in Mary's name.
