Obituary

Mary Belle Dean, 100, formerly of Holly Hill, Florida, passed away on April 27, 2021 at Port Orange Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born on February 20, 1921 in Lenox, Kentucky to the late Leander and Minnie Belle Johnson.  Mary was the oldest of ten.  She graduated from Nursing School and moved to this area in 1965 from Dayton, KY.  Mary retired after over thirty years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Ormond Memorial Hospital in Ormond Beach, FL.  Prior to that she was an LPN at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach for several years.

Mary was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Holly Hill where she assisted families in the Family History Center.

Mary enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, cooking, family gatherings and family history.

Survivors include her six children, Bobbie Dean of Stone Mountain, GA,  Mickey (Bunny) Dean, Sr. of Hemet, CA, Chuck (Mary Pat) Dean of Debary, FL, Leah Pierce of Orange City, FL, David (Norma) Dean, Sr, of Orange City, FL, Dennis (Montene) Dean of Bremen, GA, Toni (Aaron) Hollis of South Daytona, FL;  Eighteen Grandchildren; Thirty-nine Great-Grandchildren and Eight Great-Great Grandchildren;  Several Step-Grandchildren and Step Great-Grandchildren;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Floyd Raymond Dean, who passed away in 1988.  She was also preceded in death by her nine siblings, her grandchildren, Mickey Dean, Jr., Scott Dean, and Rebecca Kaiser, her great-granddaughter, Brittany Culp and her Great-Great-Grandson, Conner Gallagher.

A Visitation will be held on Monday May 3, 2021 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1125 6 th Street, Holly Hill, FL 32117.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm Monday May 3, 2021 also at the Church.  A Graveside Service will be held immediately following the Service at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.  Immediately following the Graveside Service the Family invites all to a Reception that will be held at the Church.
