Martin Phillip Ludwig 86 passed away at Bert Fish Medical Center New Smyrna Beach on December 19 2008. Memorial Service will be held 11 am Friday December 26 2008 with Mr. Jon Overcash of the Christian Church of Edgewater officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until service time in the Cardwell Funeral Home Chapel. Martin was born on April 5 1922 in Clements Kansas to Martin and Mila (Deering) Ludwig. He moved to Edgewater FL from Chicago in 1984. He retired from International Harvester after many years of employment. He was a United States Veteran serving on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt Aircraft carrier for 1942 to 1946. During his time in the military he served as a pilot landing signal officer and catapult officer. Martin is survived by his loving wife Rose; two sons Manley P. Ludwig (Diana) of Heathrow and Michael T. Ludwig of Camarillo CA; one daughter Karen E. Metcalf (Ron) of Palatine IL.; one sister Lorena Magathan (Paul) ofClements KA; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 wives Mary Gaines passed away 1997 Doratha Dyke passed away 1999. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Martin's name to the Christian Church of Edgewater P. O. Box 217 Edgewater FL 32l32.
