The family of Martha Jackson will receive friends at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach St Daytona Beach at 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 16 2010 for visitation with Funeral Services being conducted on Thursday June 17 2010 at 1 p.m. at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jeffrey Sumners will be officiating.

Martha Ellen Beacham Jackson of South Daytona and wife of sixty-one years of Sidney Harris Jackson Sr. passed away June 13 1010 at 9:35 a.m. after a lengthy illness. Martha was born March 24 1927 in Atlanta Ga. She was the daughter of William Jennings and Louise Rideout Beacham. Martha graduated from Agnes Scott College Decatur Ga. in 1948 where she was the top academic psychology major in that year's graduation class. She began translating a lifelong love of art into art lessons in the 1970's and her artistic ability blossomed. She has left behind a legacy of her beautiful oil paintings watercolors and chalk drawings. She loved her second home in Highlands N.C. where she had spent all or part of almost every summer of her life on the property that had been in her family since 1855. She was a long-time member of Westminster-By-The-Sea Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband Sidney Jackson she is survived by her daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Austin Case of Greenville S.C. and her son Sidney and daughter-in-law Dale Jackson of Highlands N.C.

In Lieu of flowers contributions in Martha's name may be made to the Hospice of Volusia.
