Obituary

Marlene Ludlow, 81, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026. She was born on March 16, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee, and was raised in Covington, Indiana . She worked for the Department of Defense as an elementary school teacher on military bases in the Philippines, Germany, and in Japan. Marlene paired her joy of traveling with her joy of teaching by making memories with friends on international adventures. She shared this joy with her nieces and nephews by taking them on educational adventures & encouraging travel. Marlene’s worldly adventures led her to retire in Ormond Beach, Florida along with some of her closest friends met overseas. While in Ormond Beach she enjoyed daily walks on the beach, playing bridge, volunteering in her community, attending Jags games, taking up water color painting, and Turtle Patrol. Later in her life she also greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandniece, Caitlin and grandnephew, Daniel.

Marlene is survived by her brother, Bill Ludlow (wife, Jan); her niece, Bonnie McDonough as well as Jennifer Moriarity, Adam Clemons, Benjamin Ludlow, Jeremiah Ludlow, David Ludlow, Jaimie Sweeney, Rebecca Hart, Sarah McGimsey, Jonathan Ludlow, Joe Ludlow, and Hannah Ludlow along with several grandnieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Robbye Ludlow; sister, Judy Clemons; and brother, Jim Ludlow who is survived by wife, Barbara..

The Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 1pm at Lohman Funeral Home located at 733 West Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Covington Teacher’s Scholarship Fund to support Covington High School graduates pursuing a major in education. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach.
