In Loving Memory

Mark Burton Wines, the only son of Jack and Maxine Wines, was born on May 6,1955, in Toledo, Ohio. Mark later moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where he attended school, graduating from Ballard High School in 1974. After high school he studied Architecture at the University of Kentucky-Lexington Technical Institute, graduating in 1978.

After graduation Mark moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, where he worked in several occupations (grocery store assistant manager (IGA), electrical apprentice, plumbing apprentice, concrete finisher, and school maintenance for Volusia County Schools) before opening his own business, MBW Home Repair and Restorations in 2011.

Mark was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts; first as a member himself earning the rank of Life Scout, then serving as an assistant scout leader when his son joined scouting. (1999-2016) Mark steered his son to achieve the rank of Life Scout and mentored many young men to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

Mark shared a love for camping and community service with his son William Maxwell Wines (Max).

Mark enjoyed working with his hands. He was very artistic and used his talents as a master craftsman creating many stained-glass pieces, and furniture pieces. Mark also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, attending antique car shows, riding horses, listening to music, and going to many, many concerts, but most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends. Mark was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand and was always the first person to jump in and help.

Mark enjoyed traveling, with one of his fondest memories being a fishing trip he took with his father to Canada; and he spent the last several years traveling with his dear friends John and Dawna Rhoades to the “islands” and an excursion out West. He also enjoyed traveling to Kentucky to spend time with his mother, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Friday night dinners with Max were always the highlight of his week. Max was the most important person in Mark’s life, and he enjoyed the hours spent with him whatever they were doing from watching movies to long talks. Mark instilled in Max the importance of family and how to be a loyal and selfless friend.

Mark is survived by his son, William Maxwell Wines; mother, Maxine Wines; sisters: DeLea Cracraft, Shelley Wines, and Colette Victor; and special friends: Connie Sphire, John Rhoades, and Dawna Rhoades.

Mark passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the age of 70. He is predeceased in death by his father, Jack Wines; Grandparents: Ora Wines, Ethel Anderson, Raymond Rasmussen, and Cleo Rasmussen; Uncles: Donald Wines and William Schwartz; Aunt, Elaine Schwartz.
