Obituary

Mark Livingston Sr. entered Heaven on January 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years, Dottie Livingston and children, Nicole (Livingston) Duchesneau and Mark Livingston Jr. He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and loyalty.

Mark was the son of Carl Livingston and Carolyn (Ellis) Livingston, raised in Daytona Beach. He was a devoted baby brother to Susanne (Livingston) Hart, Jane Livingston-Wagner-Vosdingh, and Carl Livingston. Although not blood related, he was also a loving brother to Michael Shoemaker, his best friend for over 40 years. He was a cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and coached in various sports.

Mark proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Stuttgart Germany and experienced a Rolling Stones concert, a memory he carried until the very end and shared with many over the years. Throughout his life, Mark wore many hats and poured his heart into every endeavor. He served as a police officer, but his gentle nature led him to prioritize making friends, resulting in fewer tickets written and more relationships built.

Mark was a familiar and welcoming face in countless stores and restaurants throughout Volusia County, where he worked as a milk man, cracker man and wine salesman for many years. Mark met no stranger and became friends with all he encountered. His humor and spirit made him a joy to be around—his laugh was infectious, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. His genuine warmth and approachable nature created a loyal following of customers who loved and appreciated him for many years.

In 1985, he married the love of his life, Dottie Sturniolo (Livingston), with whom he created a beautiful family. Together, they welcomed two children, Nicole Livingston (Duchesneau) and Mark Livingston Jr. Mark was a loving father who served his church and coached his children in various sports throughout the years. He later found joy in being a grandfather, which brought him immense happiness.

A die-hard fan of the Miami Dolphins, Mark often joked that he wouldn't leave this world until the Dolphins reclaimed their spot as Super Bowl champions. It seems that Mark, with his usual charm and refusal to conform to schedules, decided he simply couldn't wait that long—but we all know he'd be cheering them on from the best seat in the house if that day ever comes.

Mark faced the challenges of vascular dementia with the same strength he showed throughout his life. With unwavering devotion, his loving wife, Dottie, stood by him, providing caring support during his illness. Their bond was a testament to true love and commitment, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.

Mark will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends, who will carry his cherished memories in their hearts forever. A man of strength, kindness, and loyalty, he leaves a remarkable legacy that will continue to shine brightly in the lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held on January 25, 2025 1PM at LifePoint Church, DeLand where family and friends are invited to celebrate Mark's life and share their stories.

Rest in peace, Mark Livingston Sr. Your light will always guide us, and your spirit will forever be.
