Mark Anthony Goldey, a resident of Flagler Beach, FL, originally from Nicholasville, KY died unexpectedly on April 2, 2017 at the age of 59.
Mark is survived by his children, Mary Lynn (Danny) Carpenter, Matthew (Meghan) Goldey, Spencer (Maegan) Goldey, Savannah Goldey, and Casey Goldey; his siblings, Patricia (Garner) Crutchfield, John Goldey, Gerard (Teresa) Goldey, Paul (Karen) Goldey, and Angela Brown; long-time girlfriend, Joann; special friend, Lisa Goldey; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was also preceded in death by his parents Howard Frank and Nellie Aldridge Goldey.
Mark was born in Lexington, KY on November 29, 1957. He was an excellent basketball player growing up and an avid UK fan. Mark was an "old soul" and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life like watching old westerns and driving in the country. He was retired from the City of Nicholasville where he enjoyed working with his brother, Paul. He so enjoyed having good times with his family and loved them dearly.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18th 5p.m. at the Edgewood Baptist Church located at South Main Street, Nicholasville, KY. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7p.m. and the service will begin at 7:00p.m. The Reverend Don Reed will officiate.
