Obituary

Mark Frederick Etner 42 of Ormond Beach FL passed away February 3 2013. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held Saturday February 9 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church 1035 W Granada Blvd Ormond Beach FL 32174.
Mark will be remembered by many for his jovial sense of humor. He always did his best at work and play. He would joke and laugh to make life more enjoyable for those around him. As an excellent student Mark helped many of his friends with their school work. No matter what job he held whether dining hall server delivery driver or plumber he did the best work possible. He even achieved the rank of Eagle in Boy Scouts. The people he worked for were awed by his drive and spirit; and devastated when he left to pursue his next endeavor.
Mark had a very full life with many good friends with whom he spent a lot of time. He found much enjoyment from science fiction TV and movies especially Dr. Who and Star Trek. Music really bound him to his friends; he loved wild rock sounds and heavy metal music. As he matured he found more enjoyment in writing his own short stories and poetry. He wrote enough to fill at least one book and was planning a three novel series before he was hit with a massive stroke that left him severely handicapped.
Mark was born January 27 1971. He grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania in the western suburbs of Philadelphia and later moved to San Diego for a change of scenery and some warmer weather. He enjoyed living by himself so that he could do his writing or go to the beach after work. After his stroke in 2005 he moved to live with his parents in Ormond Beach FL. He stayed with them until he suffered another blood clot which led to his passing away.
Mark is survived by his parents Morrell and Marna Etner of Ormond Beach; by his brothers Matthew of Black Mountain NC and Martin of Vienna VA; by three nephews and one niece; and by his two cats Zoey and Vedder.
Since his cats were his best friends and almost like children to him please consider a donation in Mark's name to the SPCA in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Condolences may be shared with family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
