On Saturday, April 16th, 2022, Mark J. Calabrese , loving son, brother, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 61. Mark leaves his mother and father, Carol and James Calabrese, three sisters, Debbie (Glen) Austin, Denice (Scott) Schilsky and Elizabeth Elvidge, devoted girlfriend Cathy Black-Benson, nephews, Todd Renner, Bryan Schilsky and Tyler Elvidge, nieces Ashlee Spalding and Lindsey Elvidge. Mark passed away after bravely fighting cancer for the past 9 months.

Mark, known to many in the community as "Coolbreeze" was a born and bred Florida resident, raised in Daytona Beach, attended Mainland High School where he became a star football player, an excellent wrestler and was on the weight lifting team and received the "Most Athletic Award" in 1978. After high school, Mark attended the University of Tampa and returned to his beloved hometown and worked in many local restaurants and country clubs.

Mark earned his nickname for his easy-going manner, and kind gentle demeanor. He enjoyed hanging out with friends over a beer, shooting a game of pool and would join in the fun with his joyous harmonica playing. Camping and spending time outside with his partner Cathy and their dog, Cherry, was also a favorite pastime. Mark loved the ocean and surfing at the Ormond Pier. Every Sunday he would have dinner with his parents and loved his family dearly. Mark adored his mother and never missed the chance to hold her hand when they were together.
Mark, you will be missed by many.

A private family celebration of life will be held at the ocean at a later date.
