IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion E.
O'Connell
August 7, 1927 – December 13, 2024
Marion O'Connell, age 97, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Marion was raised in the picturesque town of New Hamburg, New York, nestled along the beautiful Hudson River. She often reminisced about her childhood, filled with happy memories spent with her adoring grandparents. Growing up near the river, Marion cherished the adventures she had with friends and family, exploring the scenic landscapes and forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.
In her young adult years, Marion moved to Far Rockaway, New York, where she began working as a switchboard operator. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, her devoted husband. Their deep connection and love for one another formed the foundation of a beautiful life together.
Marion's greatest joy was found in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the heart and soul of her home, creating a warm and welcoming environment where love and happiness thrived. As a homemaker, Marion dedicated herself to her family, always making sure that her home was a place of comfort and support. Her thoughtful cooking, her delicious baking, and her ever-present care for those around her made every occasion feel special.
A woman of many talents, Marion had a love for gardening, where she would spend hours tending to her flowers and plants, filling her home with nature's beauty. She also had a natural gift for music, often singing and dancing to her favorite songs, which brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Marion's vibrant spirit was contagious, and she had a remarkable ability to bring warmth to any room she entered.
Marion's sense of humor and infectious smile were constant reminders of her joyful nature. She loved to laugh and could always find joy in the little things in life. A good glass of wine and a lively conversation with friends and family were among her simple pleasures, and she always made sure to live life to the fullest.
Marion is survived by her beloved children, Thomas O'Connell of Daytona Beach Florida, Kathleen Corbett (Thomas) of Ft. Pierce Florida, and Patricia Hall(Thomas) of Minneola Florida; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life. She is proceeded by her loving husband Walter O'Connell and her beloved son Walter O'Connell Jr. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
She will be dearly missed, but her memory will be cherished forever. May she rest in peace, knowing she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
