Obituary

Marion Ringrose Uthoff Hogle, beloved wife of the late Francis M. Hogle Jr. and mother of the late Betty Ann Hogle, passed away quietly on October 30 2012 in Daytona Beach.

A funeral service in her honor will be held on Sunday November 4 2012 at 2:00 PM at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach St. Daytona Beach.

Born August 27 1919 in New Orleans Louisiana Her childhood was spent in New Orleans Biloxi and Bergen Norway where she became fluent in Norwegian. She returned to New Orleans in 1934 to complete her high school education at Eleanor McMain H.S. during which time she acquired a life-long interest in sewing and fashion. She went on to Soule Business School and Joseph A. Maybin Business School for Graduates before entering the business world.

During World War II Marion accepted a position with the United States Civil Service Commission 10th District stationed in Dallas Texas. It was while there she became engaged to Francis Hogle. She gave her hand in marriage to Francis on July 24 1943 at First Presbyterian Church in Deland Florida. After their wedding Francis and Marion were assigned to Norfolk Virginia she with the Investigations Division of the 4th U.S Civil Service Region.

After the war they returned to Florida where Francis eventually established the accounting firm of Hogle & Vogt in Daytona Beach. There Marion served both as office manager and office accountant while raising their three children. Beginning in 1962 they kindled an interest in traveling the nation and the world thrice circumnavigating the globe; and concurrently they acquired a passion for genealogy culminating in their collaborative work on the Hogle genealogy published in 1994.

Throughout her life Marion was loved and respected by her family many friends coworkers and colleagues. Marion is survived by her sons Francies Miland Hogle III and Charles Uthoff Hogle and their families. She is also survived by her niece Kimberly Uthoff Zimek and family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Baggett and Summers Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
