Marilyn F. Southwick went home to be with our Lord after her recent battle with cancer on Sunday morning, January 10 at Grace Manor in Port Orange. Marilyn was born on July 29, 1931 in Titusville, Pa. to Francis William and Erlamond Bessie Lauffer Roberts.
Marilyn graduated from Titusville High School in 1949. On July 15, 1949 she married her beloved husband of 48 years, Jerome E. Southwick. They came to Orlando, Fl. in 1957. After coming to the Daytona area 1962, Marilyn worked for many years as an insurance secretary for State Farm Insurance. She and Jerome settled in Ormond Beach in 1970 where she remained for 45 years. Marilyn was an active member of Riverbend Community Church.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband, Jerome, her sister Kay Page, and her step-sister Joanne Bigley. She is survived by her son, Roy Southwick (Sandy), her daughter, Karen LaRose, her sister Vera Taylor, and step-sister Barbara Coan. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Scott Southwick (Skye), Cheryl Stork (Michael), and Daniel LaRose, and her six great-grandchildren. A visitation for friends and family will begin at 12:00p.m Thursday, January 14 at the Lohman Funeral Home in Daytona Beach followed by a funeral service at1:00 p.m. The family asks that you consider a donation in Marilyn's name to either Riverbend Community Church of Ormond Beach or the American Breast Cancer Foundation
