Marilyn E. Martin 80 Ormond Beach passed away on December 17 2010 at her home. A Memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday Dec. 22nd at 3:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Marilyn was born June 24 1930 in Brooklyn New York to Joseph and Bessie Scharf she relocated to Volusia County in 2001 from Sun City West AZ was a retired teacher spoke several languages had numerous poem published she was a member of the Daytona Beach Choral Society sang in the choir at Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church and played several instruments including piano flute violin and the clarinet. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Lynn Smedley and her husband Bill Palm Coast FL; brother Murray Scharf Delray Beach FL; and three grandchildren Michael Alyson and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Shapiro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Halifax Humane Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
