Marilyn was born on May 19, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Glenna (Faires) Tarpley. Marilyn was the sole provider to raise and care for her children until she met Al and after just one month, they were married. Her biggest accomplishments in life were her children and not a day went by she didn't tell them she loved them and how proud she was of them, she would do anything for them and she did! She was an AMAZING WOMAN! Even at the end with all her problems she put them aside to wanted to be there for us. Mom, I will miss our morning phone calls and my ten more every day even when you were having a bad day and couldn't talk much just you answering I knew I had one more day with you, I will so miss our talks your voice always calmed me. I will always miss my best friend, come visit me as much as you can, I need to feel you around me. I love you more then any words you know that all my love your son. Marilyn was a wonderful teacher to so many, whether it was cooking (and boy could she cook), baking, sewing, crocheting, ceramics. But she could also teach us how to deal with life's problems, a great listener and advice giver that always made you believe it was your idea. Attended Church of Christ and teaching her children of the Lord Jesus and his promises. She loved to read book after book and sometimes reread a book and in her younger years she loved roller skating, fishing with her Son, bowling with her Daddy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alton Larry of 53 years, her children Carolyn Kay Riggle and David Waddell (Sharice), grandchildren, Jason, Waddell, Daniel Schaffer, Angelia (Matt) Ours, Andrena (Brian) Boyd, Ashley Waddell, Amber (Ryan Zimmerman) Waddell and Andrew Schaffer. Great Grandchildren Clayton, Calysa, Addisen, Ashlyn, Kynadi, Ella and Everly. Her sister Connie (Jack) Knirk and Sister in law Geri and several nieces and nephews.
