Marilyn J. Kissel 79. The life of Marilyn J. Kissel Marilyn Jean Deitz will be celebrated on Tuesday July 12th at 9:30am at St. Mary?s Episcopal Church 216 Orange Avenue Daytona Beach FL. There will be a visitation Monday July 11th from 6:30 to 7:30 in the Chapel at the Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Marilyn passed away peacefully on July 4 2005 at her home in Breakaway Trails Ormond Beach. Her husband three children and two of her grandchildren were present with her. Marilyn moved to Ormond Beach in October of 2003 to be near her daughter and son-in-law after living her life vigorously in Miami since her birth on April 15 1926. She graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1943 later obtaining her Bachelor and Master degrees in education from the University of Miami. Like her husband of 59 years she taught elementary school for 25 years in the Dade County public school system. In addition to being a teacher she was a home maker raising her children and caring for her in-laws while still finding time for sewing class attending her professional sorority and being the president and holding other offices in her church Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Hollywood FL. She regarded her family as her greatest success. They cherished her devotion and Kindness and recognized her leadership character and elegance which she maintained to the end. She is survived by her husband Walter; son and daughter-in-law Nicholas and Lynda Kissel Scottsdale; daughter and son-in-law Genie and Bill Rehrmann Ormond Beach; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Marjorie Kissel San Diego; granddaughters Kimberly Sallquist Kristen Gunnarson Lisa Rehrmann Jessica Kissel Karly Kissel; grandson Jeffrey Rehrmann; and great grandson Nicholas Sallquist. One of Marilyn?s greatest joys were her walking buddies at Breakaway Trails. They walked with her and sometimes wheeled her encouraged her prayed for her and were constantly supportive. They like the excellent staff at Granny Nannies and the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler helped make her final ?walk? a welcomed transition.
