Marilyn Ruth Hooper, 79, passed peacefully on June 14, 2014.

Marilyn was born on April 11, 1935 in Port Huron, Michigan, one of 10 children of the late Harvey Cole and Ruby Gordanier Cole. Marilyn and husband Russell spent the early years of their married life in Anchorage, Alaska where they resided until 1971 when they and their 5 children moved to Daytona Beach, Florida. Mrs. Hooper was a realtor, real estate developer, and co-owner of Crabby Joe's on the Sunglow Fishing Pier in Daytona Beach Shores. She was active in the Cherry Laurel Garden Club, a member of the Halifax River Yacht Club, and enjoyed traveling with her close friends and family.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her children, Sue (Tom) McLennon of Carmel, IN, Sandy (Jim) Ward of Atlanta, GA, Sharon McClurg of Jacksonville, FL, Patty (Bill) French of Ormond Beach, and Rod (Debbie) Hooper of Ormond Beach, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Vern (Ty), Maxwell (Mick), Jack, and Russ Cole. She was predeceased by sisters Jeanne Culbertson, Dorothy (Dort) Douglas, Nina Cole, and by brothers Harvey (Harv) and Dale Cole.

A gathering will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 12:30 P.M to 1:30 P.M with a service of remembrance beginning at 1:30 P.M. A burial is planned at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids, MI.
