Marilyn C. Gross a long-time resident of Jacksonville Florida passed away on February 18 2008 after a long illness.
She was born in Rhode Island of August 8 1928 to Harold Richmond Weaver and Susan Andrews Weaver. She was a 1946 graduate of Coventry High School. She married Irving Allen Gross of Scituate Rhode Island on June 26 1948. They moved to Jacksonville Florida in 1973 where she was employed as a recruiter for the US Navy.
She was an avid promoter of animal rights and was instrumental in the cessation of animal experimentation at several facilities here in the State of Florida.
Marilyn also belonged to an all-female retired persons band that played for the sick and elderly in nursing homes and hospitals.
Survivors include a brother Harold A. Weaver of Orlando FL. a daughter Susan Close and son-in-law David Close of Palm Coast.
A church service will be held at Christ the King Church in Arlington FL at a later date.
