Memorial Services for Marilyn D. Howard age 79 of Daytona Beach Florida formerly of Amsterdam New York who passed away November 30 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer will be held at 2 pm Monday January 8 2007 at Central Baptist Church in Daytona Beach. The family invites everyone to a reception at Daytona Beach Elks Lodge 700 S. Ridgewood Avenue immediately following the service. She was born November 5 1927 the daughter of the late Karl & Dorothy Little Dockstader. Marilyn attended Amsterdam schools and was a 1945 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch School. Following graduation she was employed by Mowhawk Carpet Mills. In 1960 Marilyn relocated to Daytona Beach Florida. She worked for Robert Robertson Accountant. She was last employed by the appraiser's office in Volusia County retiring in 1991. Marilyn was a member of the Emblem Club Elks Club Pelican Bay Club and a previous member of the Palmetto Club. Marilyn had a zest for life and will be sadly missed by all those who loved her including her family and many friends. She leaves to cherish her memory of their lives together her beloved companion of 19 years Ronald Kunz. In Ronald's words regarding his dancing beauty "It would take a book to describe Marilyn but knowing she is with a house of Angels where she will no longer feel any pain allows us to set her free". She is also survived by her two nephews David Quick of Lawrenceville GA Jeffrey Quick of Suwannee GA and one niece Candace Underwood of Lake Desolation NY great nieces Alison Underwood of Bridgeport VT Kate Underwood of Ketchum Idaho Kelsey Quick of Suwannee GA and a great nephew Cole Quick of Suwannee GA. Cousins Patricia Hayner of Amsterdam NY Mary Jane Dodds of Guilderland NY and Julie Lopez of San Jose CA. She was preceded in death by her former husband Willam Howard; daughter Lisa Howard and sister Dolores Dosckstader Quick.
