A Memorial Service for Dixie Marie Wilson age 81 of Ormond Beach who died Monday July 25 2005 at the Terrace of Daytona will be Friday July 29th 2005 at 4:00pm in the chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home Ormond the family will receive friend one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Wilson was born November 15 1923 in Williamson West Virginia to Kern and Alma Caudill and moved to Ormond Beach following the death of her husband of 47 years George F. Wilson from Tallahassee FL in 1994. Dixie was a former member of the Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club and of the Killarn Golf and Country Club in Tallahassee. Dixie loved to golf dance and listening to the music from the Big Band Era. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her son George Edward Wilson and his wife Carol of Richmond VA daughter Cindy Hurley and husband Greg of Ormond Beach FL sister Ruth Lowe and husband Gene of Sommerville SC 4 grandchildren Heather and husband Greg Osborne of Morresville NC Hilary Hurley of Birmingham AL Kelly Wilson and Ben Wilson both of Richmond VA 2 great-grandchildren Riley Madison Osborne and Blake Hurley Osborne both of Morresville NC nephews Bill Altice and wife Donnella of Orlando FL Fred Altice and wife Tracy of Astor FL nieces Carol Altice of Sommerville SC Genie and husband Roger Shannon of Naples FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to the Salvation Army 1555 LPGA Blvd. Daytona Beach FL 32117 or the Halifax Humane Society 2364 W. LPGA Blvd. Ormond Beach FL 32124 in honor of her dog Beau.
