Marie Theresa Walker (née Barone) passed away surrounded by her family on July 24, 2024, at the age of 88 in Port Orange, Florida. Born April 29, 1936, in Camden, NJ. She was the cherished daughter of Antonio Barone and Nellie Biazzo. Marie grew up in Camden where she attended Camden Elementary and Camden High School.

Marie embarked on her chosen career as an executive secretary, initially working at RCA Corp. in Camden NJ from 1954 to 1960, and later at Siemens Corp. in Cherry Hill, NJ, from 1973 to 1975. Showcasing her exceptional organizational skills and dedication. she later served as the Manager of the Word Processing Department,  for Daytona Beach Community College and then was promoted to a position in the Continuing Education Department.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Marie was actively involved in her community and her church. She was a faithful member and volunteer at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, FL  and later a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Hope in Port Orange, FL.

Her hobbies included modern dance instruction, entertaining, cooking,  crafting, and gardening, which brought great joy not only to her but also to those around her.

Marie leaves behind her loving husband, of 64 years, Ronald Walker; her daughter, Rahna  Summerlin (David); and her son, Steven Walker (Tim Harmon) She was preceded in death by her brother, Carlo Barone, and her parents.

Marie's life was marked by her vibrant spirit, her commitment to her family, friends, and her unwavering faith in her church. Her legacy of warmth and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Lohman Funeral Homes, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL, at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. A funeral mass is scheduled for July 31, 2024 at 8:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32129, on July 31, 2024.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations  be made  to Halifax Health Hospice Fund Development, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129, in memory of Marie Walker.
