Obituary

A Memorial Mass for Marie Francis Perrotta of Palm Coast who passed away on July 20 2009 at the Florida Hospital-Memorial Medical Center will be held at 2:00pm Friday July 24 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy Palm Coast FL with a reception to follow for friends and family at Lohman Funeral Home-Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW. Palm Coast FL. A private inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date to place her beside her beloved husband. Marie was born on November 9 1923 in Brooklyn New York. Her father was born in Naples Italy and her mother was born in Calabria Italy. She suffered from congestive heart failure following an attempt to repair a heart valve. She was married to Alfred Louis Perrotta in 1943 for sixty-six years. She was the mother of two children Alfred Charles Perrotta and Phyllis Ann Edwards. Marie and Fred moved to Palm Coast in 1982 following their retirement. Marie Perrotta was an Executive Administrative Assistant for ESSO Oil Company in Coral Gables FL and for the Riveria Country Club. Mrs. Perrotta was preceded n death by her beloved husband Alfred Perrotta (2007) and her beloved son Alfred C. Perrotta in 2003. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Phyllis Ann Edwards; a daughter-in-law Frances Perrotta of Deland; her grandchildren: Nicholas C. Perrotta of Morristwon NJ Kimberly A. Herring & husband Mark of Deland Noelle A. Perrotta of Edgewater Elaine Marie Edwards of Stone Mountain GA Elyse A. Edwards of Palm Coast along with three great-grandchildren: Danielle Perrotta Kelsey Ann Herring and Kasey James Herring. Mrs. Perrotta was also survived by her sister Emma Gennaro and her brother Ralph Troino. She was a school volunteer and a reading coach for nine years and a member of the NY Social Club the Italian-American Social Club American Legion Auxilliary #115 the Knights of Columbus Auxilliary #7845 the Disabled American Veteran Auxilliary #86 the Mother Seton Guild and Faithful Parrishoners the AARP and RSVP. Marie was loved by numerous cousins nieces nephews and friends. The family is requesting donations to the Decatur Education Foundation 315 W. Ponce de Leon Blvd. Decatur GA 30030 in honor of her daughter Dr. Edwards who is superintendent of schools in the City Schools of Decatur or are welcome to give a donation to Mother Seton Catholic Church 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy Palm Coast FL 32164.
