Obituary

Marie Miller Mula, 95, passed away on April 20, 2022. She was born on October 2, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Frank (John) and Emma Miller, and was one of six children, two of which are predeceased: William Miller and Ann Driscoll, three surviving: Mildred Williamson, Alberta Scherer and Joan Martelli.

Marie was married to the late Samuel Mula, the love of her life, for seventy five years. Marie and Sam are survived by their seven children: Carol (James) Steinmetz, Jim (Julie) Mula, Michael (Jan) Mula, David Mula, Sammy (Cathy) Mula, John (Mary) Mula and Marcy (Robert) Frazier, eleven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She dedicated her whole life to her family. As an adult, Marie went back to school and became an LPN, and worked as a nurse until a back injury forced her into retirement.  Even then, she continued to help her family in so many ways, especially with her seamstress talents, and was always there for whatever occasion or need arose.

Sam and Marie moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Port Orange, Florida in 1979, after which many of the family followed. Marie hosted many fun-loving family and friends gatherings, and loved to help and play Bingo at Epiphany Catholic Church. Marie and Sam moved to Benton House during their last years, and quickly made many friends. Marie enjoyed time playing cards, bingo, and listening to piano music. Marie will be greatly missed by all her family and friends, but she has left her quiet loving heart on all she touched.

A visitation will be held at Lohman Funeral Home located in Port Orange on April 28, 2022, from 4pm - 6 pm, with a Vigil starting at 5:30pm.  Services will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with a Mass on April 29, 2022, at 11:30am. Marie will be laid to rest beside her husband at Daytona Memorial Park following the service.
