Funeral Services for Marie J. McLaughlin 89 of Port Orange who died April 16 2008 will be held at 1 pm Monday April 21 at the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 am until 1 pm also in the chapel. Marie was born on January 12 1919 to the late Thomas and Lucy Calderone in Trenton New Jersey. She grew up as a part of the "Greatest Generation" and worked for Lenox China as a Quality Control Inspector until retiring. After retiring Marie enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and socializing with friends. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Joseph McLaughlin and his wife Rose Marie; sisters Gloria Ryan of New Jersey Mildred Poole of Reading PA Sylvia Hoffman of Ormond Beach; grandsons Kenneth (Sherry) McLaughlin and Richard McLaughlin of New Jersey; great grandchildren Melissa (Gary) Jones of Florida Brianne McLaughlin of New Jersey Kyle McLaughlin of Port Orange Richard McLaughlin of New Jersey and Craig McLaughlin of Port Orange; great great granddaughter Alexis Jones of Florida; many nieces and nephews and her long time companion Harry. Marie was preceded in death by her brothers Pat Calderone Joseph Calderone Rocky Calderone and infant Louie. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Marie to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
