Marie P. Lucas age 70 a retired medical professional passed away on June 6 2010 at Florida Hospital Oceanside Ormond Beach FL. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday June 19th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 600 S. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach. Marie was born on August 17 1939 in Deerfield Massachusetts to Anthony and Helen (Stoberski) Podlesney. In 1979 Marie and her husband Robert relocated to Ormond Beach from Houston Texas. She was a parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she volunteered at the "Like New Shop" she also volunteered at the Tomoka Elementary School and the Volusia County PTA. Marie graduated from Frontier HS in Deerfield MA where she was VP of her Senior Class a Cheerleader and Home Coming Queen. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Robert "Bob" Lucas Ormond Beach three sons Steve R. Lucas and his wife Denise of Ft. Collins CO Rick J. Lucas of Ormond Beach and Jeff A. Lucas and his wife Candice also of Ormond Beach by a brother Anthony Podlesney of South Dennis MA and a sister Ann Ghidoni of Agawam MA grandchildren Stevie Savana and Brianna by her dogs Reese and Cloe and by numerous nieces nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by two brothers Francis and Vincent Podlesney. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the "I'm Alive in Christ Campaign " c/o Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
