Marie Costello 76 of South Daytona entered into eternal life on Friday June 12 2009 at her residence. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday June 16 at 12 p.m. at Basilica Of Saint Paul Catholic Church in Daytona Beach with burial to follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Monday) with a Parish wake service at 6 p.m. at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home S. Beach St. Daytona Beach. Marie was born November 21 1932 in Philadelphia PA the daughter of Timothy and Johanna (O'Meara) Callanan. She was married to John ""Jack"" Costello who preceded her in death in 2003. Marie and Jack moved to the area in the mid 60's and she became very active in the community. Her interests were church bingo bowling singing parties and spending quality time with friends and family. She was a past president of the G.E. Wives Club and a long time member of the Palmetto Club. While being a loyal member of her church she was active in the choir and involved with Saint Teresa's Circle along with many other activities. This past year she was awarded the ""The Order of Saint Paul"" for her services and dedication to The Basilica of Saint Paul over the years. Marie also volunteered her time at the Homeless Shelter in Daytona and with the News Journal during AID's benefits. Survivors include Sons; Daniel (Cheryl) Costello of Dallas TX John (Joan) Costello of Burlington NJ Patrick (Robin) Costello of Summerville SC Todd Costello of S. Daytona; daughters: JoAnne (Howell) Winfree of Tallahassee K.C. (Greg) Slay of Ocala; brother: Todd (Bridie) Callanan of Philadelphia PA; sisters: Kass (Nick) Russo of Roslyn PA Josephine Carter of Glenside PA; and thirteen loving grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother Jimmy and sister Patty. Marie never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many.
