Marie C. Adkins 72 of Daytona Beach passed away peacefully at home Thursday November 10 2011. Marie was a beloved wife mother sister and grandmother. Born and raised in Midland PA she moved to Daytona in 1983 with her family. For almost 20 years she served as the occupational health nurse for the City of Daytona Beach. Marie was active in the community the American Cancer Society The Heart Association and Saint Paul Catholic Church. She lived life completely was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Dean Adkins; her sisters Lydia Simko and Betty Thropp; three devoted sons David Dean and Dan; and her loving grandchildren Monica Bryon Jonathan Daniel Clayton Elise and Pete. Condolences may be shared with the family on Thursday November 17 5 PM-7 PM @ Baggett and Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach St. with a prayer service at 6:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at The Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Church 317 Mullally Street with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Marie's name. Arrangements are under the entrusted care of Baggett Summers Funeral Home.
