Marian Cross age 81 passed away peacefully on March 24 2010. Marian was born on April 26 1928 in Deferiet New York to William and Lucy (Sprague) Higby. She resided in the Watertown New York area for almost 60 years and relocated to Ormond Beach Florida in 1989. She was a graduate of Deferiet High School and completed two years of Business School. Marian worked 28 years as an Administrator to the President of Jefferson Community College in Watertown New York. She was the first employee at the College and played an important role from the College's inception until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed traveling all over the world spending time with family and had a great love of crossword puzzles. Marian was preceded in death by her parents William and Lucy (Sprague) Higby as well as by her only brother Bernard Higby. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Struss and her husband David of Monroe Connecticut and their children Amanda Struss and William Struss. She is also survived by her daughter Judy Fusco and her husband John of Boston New York their children Andrew Fusco and Lisa Link (husband Bryce Link) and their grandchildren Ayden Link AnneMarie Link and Donovan Link. She is also survived by a niece Sherry Higby Pufky and her husband Bill of Ormond Beach and Ballston Spa New York. Marian will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
