Marguerite Runyon 93 of Daytona Beach FL formerly of Fairmont WV died Saturday August 03 2013. A Visitation in her honor will be held Thursday August 8 from 5pm to 7pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday August 9 2013 at 11 am Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She was born in Clarksburg WV on July 3 1920 a daughter of the late Charles Urchak and Carolina Rokisky Urchak. Her husband J. B. Marshall Runyon preceded her in death in 1977. Surviving are one son James M. Runyon of Albemarle NC and one daughter Marsha R. Lester of Advance NC; four grandsons James B. Runyon Joseph C. Runyon Robert W. Lester and Charles M. Lester; and three great-grandchildren Erin L. Runyon Greyson C. Runyon and Sasha M. Runyon. In 1941 Mrs. Runyon graduated from the nursing program at the Medical College of Virginia. Her career was spent in Public Health where she served in the Shelby County Health Department in Memphis TN Marion County Health Department in Fairmont WV and Volusia County Health Department in Daytona Beach FL. In 1998 Mrs. Runyon was awarded Florida's Outstanding Woman in Public Health from the University of Southern Florida. After a fifty-eight year career she retired from the Volusia County Health Department in 2002 as TB manager. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
