Marguerite Dumont Gaudio Obrick, passed peacefully, on Jan 1, 2018, after a brief illness, at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange, FL.
Mrs. Obrick was 92, a native of northern France. A WW2 survivor of occupied France and Belgium. She came to the US in 1948, where she married Ben Gaudio, at St. Anne's in Hamden, CT. Both were parishioners of St John's in New Haven for several years.
Marguerite moved to Daytona from Ct. after the death of her husband, in 1995. She made Wilbur by the Sea her home since then and enjoyed a fruitful life!
She is survived by her son, Ben Gaudio of Guilford, CT, her daughter, Lucinda M Gaudio, of Wilbur by the Sea and her sister, Marie Dumont of Boston. She also has 4 grandchildren, Ben Gaudio of Jacksonville, FL, Elizabeth Fleming of Charlotte, NC (Navy), Louis Gaudio of NYC (Navy) and Kevin Gaudio of Guilford, Ct. Marguerite was also blessed with 4 great grandchildren, Savannah and Benny Gaudio, Aaronn Carrington and Lily Fleming. A 5th great grandchildren is on her way this month, Charlotte Fleming!
Our mother enjoyed all types of music, native american culture, reading national geographic in her patio, and gardening. She was an advocate for animal rights, veterans, the salvation army and the Lakota Children of South Dakota.
She will be greatly missed all who knew her! Memorial Service will be held on
Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at 9:00am
