Margo Drakakis Kiriakes 95 fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday January 19 2013 in Daytona Beach Florida. It was the conclusion of a wonderful faith filled life of dedication to her family Church and community. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 22 2013 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 129 North Halifax Avenue Daytona Beach with Father Joseph Samaan Father Nicholas Manousakis Father George Savas and other Priests representing the Metropolitan of Atlanta. An interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park.
After the passing of her husband Nick Xynidis Margo immigrated to St Augustine Florida from Paros Greece in 1947 with her son Steve Xynidis. She met Christos Kiriakes in 1952 and they married in 1953. They had a son Tasso Kiriakes. The family moved to the Daytona Beach area.

Margo and her family owned and operated landmark restaurants in Daytona Beach: Lido Restaurant Ocean Patio Restaurant and Dandee Restaurant. Margo and her brother Costa Drakakis owned a gift shop after the restaurants. Margo was very active in the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Community and Church. One of Margo's favorite tasks was to take care of the Altar and prepare the Church for religious services. She was a confidant to the Priests at St Demetrios. She was one of the original parishioners who did the cooking for the Daytona Beach Greek Festival. Her good works were recognized by many organizations at the Greek Orthodox Metropolis and Greek Orthodox Archdiocese for her service and philanthropic efforts. She was the recipient of The Archangel Michael Award Presented by the Bishop of the Metropolis of Atlanta which recognizes parish members for outstanding service to the Church and Metropolis. In 2012 Margo was the first person in Daytona Beach to be recognized by the National Philoptochos Society a national women's Philanthropic organization for Orthodox women as the recipient of the Agape Award for Philanthropy. Margo's passion was her family friends and Church. She loved cooking and enjoyed tending to her garden.

Margo was predeceased by her husband Christos Kiriakes and by her son Steve Xynidis. Margo will be sadly missed by her son Tasso Kiriakes by her stepson Georgios Kiriakes and by her sister-in-law Matoula Drakakis. Yiayia will be mourned by her grandchildren: Nick Xynidis Jon Xynidis Christy Xynidis Margo Irby Despina Kiriakes and Christina Kiriakes and by her great-grandchildren: Brianna Xynidis Natalyn Xynidis and Anastasia Irby.
