Margaret Helen
"Peg" Lupo
Oct 28, 1932 — Sep 2, 2021
Holly Hill
Margaret ("Peg") Lupo of Holly Hill Florida passed away peacefully on September 2 nd 2021 at Advent Health hospital. She was born in Queens New York and was 88 years young.
Peg was a dedicated volunteer for more than 50 years. Peg first began serving her community in her capacity as President of the Valley Cottage Guild. In this role, she spearheaded annual efforts to raise much-needed funds for Nyack Hospital. Peg also dedicated her time to St. Ann's Catholic Church in Nyack, New York where she managed the church's Religious Education Program.
In the early 1980s, Peg relocated to Holly Hill, Florida, where she launched her career in the private sector. Peg served as a teller and customer service representative at Heritage Bank (and ultimately for Wells Fargo) for over 16 years. In this capacity, Peg assisted local customers with transactions and financial planning, and cultivated a reputation for her kindness and accuracy.
Peg was a highly skilled and passionate bridge player. From 1982 to 2013, Peg served as the Director of the Daytona Metropolitan Bridge Club, where she taught bridge and directed competitive bridge games. As an avid bridge player, Peg is a longtime member of the American Contract Bridge League ("ACBL"). Peg has been awarded the ACBL's highest honor: the title and rank of Life Master.
After retiring from the Bank, Peg leveraged her bridge acumen to secure positions as a bridge instructor on several cruise ships. This allowed Peg to continue exploring the world while teaching others to play the game she has always loved.
Peg was the heart of her family. She is survived by her three children: Charles Lupo and his spouse Rene', Robert Lupo and Joan Neuscheler and her spouse Michael. Peg was grandmother of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She loved visiting her children and grandchildren over the holidays, and regularly ventured to Tulsa, Connecticut and Baltimore. Her holiday traditions included helping her son Robert decorate dozens of Christmas trees at the Southern Hills Country Club, helping her daughter Joan wrap dozens of Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, and spending New Year's Eve with her son Charles, daughter-in-law Rene', and grandchildren enjoying dinner at her favorite restaurant. In 2010, together with her family, Peg decided it would be best to have family close by, so she welcomed Charles and Rene' to relocate to Holly Hill to help care for her needs.
Peg always taught her grandchildren that mistakes can be turned into adventures with the right attitude. Any time she feels lost, Peg throws back her head and laughs, "Heaven's to Betsy! I guess we're going on an adventure!" So her next adventure begins!!
In lieu of flowers the family requests the donations be sent in Peg's name to: Family Renew Community Inc., 810 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill, Florida 32117
