Margaret A. Dounhoo age 81 passed away on June 20 2010.
Margaret was born on June 2 1929 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Thomas and Mary (Shoemaker) Birtwell. She graduated from Ridley Township High School in Ridley Township PA in 1946.
She traveled as a Navy wife and loved meeting new people and seeing new places. She is best remembered for her quick wit and even quicker smile. Her family was the most important thing in her world. Margaret had a hectic schedule between flag football games soccer games and surfing contests with her sons. Margaret was a Room Mother at Corbin Avenue Elem. (current Ormond Beach Elementary); was a Brownie Troop Leader and was involved with Cub Scouts.
She enjoyed the beach bingo animals particularly cats and enjoyed life through laughter.
Margaret will always be lovingly remembered as being her own person wife mother and friend.
Margaret was preceded in death in 2007 by her husband of 56 years Harold Dounhoo. Margaret is survived by her children: daughters Mary Isabel Dounhoo Savedow of Daytona Beach Joanne (Mark) Tavzel of Palm Coast sons John (Erika) of Basle Switzerland and George Dounhoo of Ormond Beach. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Margaret's honor to the Alzheimer's Association Central and North Florida Chapter 378 Central Pointe Circle Ste 1280 Altamonte Springs Florida 32701.
