Margaret L Clausen's Obituary
Margaret Louise Clausen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 15, 2018, after a brief stay at Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach. Margaret was born to William and Elizabeth Berrien on March 30, 1926 in Metuchen, New Jersey. She married William Andrew Clausen on August 10, 1946 following WW II. Her husband was a nine year veteran of the U.S. Navy who served his country valiantly during all of WW II, and was a survivor of the Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Margaret was a member of the Eastern Star and the Dutch Reformed Church of Metuchen, N.J. Margaret was devoted wife and homemaker for all of her married life, and after retiring to Ormond Beach with her husband in 1982, she became a long time member of the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, which she cherished dearly and made many close friends. Margaret enjoyed watching "Jeopardy" and golf on television, was a fan of the annual "Gaslight Parade" in Ormond Beach, and enjoyed dining out with her church friends and family. She also enjoyed boating and was an enthusiastic supporter of her husband when he was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotillas in Morgan, N.J. and Daytona Beach. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, William, and her three sisters: Evelyn Jensen, Katherine Eberle, and Helen Hellberg. She will be deeply missed by her 3 sons, William B., Thomas R., and Jeffery Clausen who provided daily care for Margaret during her last years. Of the many nieces and nephews Margaret leaves behind, she was particularly close to both Barbara Ivins of Venice Beach, Fl. and Joanne Rozansky of Greencastle, Pa. A Memorial Service will be held for Margaret on Saturday, November 10 beginning at 11a.m. at the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, 105 Amsden Road in Ormond. In Lieu of flowers, and to celebrate her life, her family asks that you consider a donation in her name to the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church.
