Margaret "Peggy" DeNitto, 60, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Peggy was a lifetime resident of Floral Park, NY, graduating from Maria Regina Diocesan High School and Fordham University. She retired as a systems programmer for the city of New York and also spent 12 years as a tax advisor for H&R Block. Her love of the beach brought her to Palm Coast, FL in 2015 after her retirement.
She was a caring and witty woman who touched the lives of many over the years. Enjoying summers at her home in Sag Harbor, NY, she often invited friends to visit and enjoy the beach and her cooking, especially her famous raisin bread and clam chowder. Peggy was always crocheting blankets for loved ones, reading voraciously, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family, friends and cats.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Blummel; and many cats, most recently Finn McCool. She is survived by her loving son, Stephen DeNitto (Melissa); her cherished grandchildren, Charlotte and Giuliana DeNitto; many beloved friends and family members; and adored cats, Duffy and Brian Boru.
A mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 25 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Victory Parish; 2 Floral Parkway, Floral Park, NY 11001.
