A Memorial Service for Marga G. Miller 104 who passed away on Monday July 21 2008 just shy of her 105th birthday will be held Saturday August 9 2008 at 11:00am at Ormond Beach Union Church 56 N. Beach St. where Marga was an active member for 37 years. A celebration of life will follow the service in the Al Matthews Hall. Born in Sweden on September 29 1903 she spent her early years living in several European countries where she learned 5 languages which she could still speak in her late years. She came to the United States in her earl 20's and eventually located in Chicago IL. After having several occupations she retired from Walgreen's Headquarters and moved to Ormond Beach in 1971. Marga was a lifetime "Diehard" Chicago Cub fan and continued to watch them on TV. She also enjoyed gardening and working jigsaw puzzles and at age 102 she finished a 1000 piece puzzle. In 2005 she became a member of the Holly Hill Eagles in the Women's Auxillary where she regularly attended meetings. In November 2007 Marga entered Bridgeview Nursing Home where she enjoyed the various activities and the companionship of new friends and a caring staff. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry A. Miller and her brothers: Victor Richard & Henry. Survivors include her devoted son Jerry Hempel of Holly Hill; her niece Nancy Cota (Fred) of Elizabethtown IL; her grandchildren: Lisa Smith of Daytona Greg Hempel of Rolling Meadows IL Carla Weber (Ted) of Ormond; her great-grandchildren: Erik Trevor Michelle Marga & Lauren along with longtime loving friends: Lorie Naatzel and Dorothy Pearson both of Ormond. Marga was considered by all who knew her as a wonderful and incredible person in many ways. She will be remembered and greatly missed by all.
