Marcella Ruth Viciana

December 22, 1946 – January 14, 2026

Marcella Ruth Viciana, 79, of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia.

Born on December 22, 1946, in New York City, Marcella was the beloved daughter of Augustine and Dorothy Innella. She was raised in the Rego Park neighborhood of Queens, New York, where, as an only child, she grew up surrounded by extended family and friends.

Marcella worked her way through secretarial school and began her professional life in New York City, including positions at prominent companies such as Warner Brothers in Manhattan. It was there that her natural ability to connect with, understand, and advocate for others truly emerged. These gifts led her to a successful and deeply fulfilling career in Human Resources, where she was respected for her empathy, professionalism, and steady guidance.

Marcella met her husband, James Viciana, in New York, and they were married in 1966. They ultimately settled in Hillsdale, New Jersey, where they raised their family and subsequently shared more than 50 years of marriage.

Family was the center of Marcella's life. Devoted to raising her two sons, she was a constant source of love, stability, and encouragement. Though a self-described private person, she always stepped forward when others needed her, lovingly caring for her mother and aunts as they aged and faced illness. A trusted confidante and sounding board, Marcella offered wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support to family and friends alike.

In later years, she took great joy in following the lives of her grown sons and their families, especially cherishing time spent with her grandchildren. She was immensely proud of their accomplishments and was known for offering a safe, nonjudgmental presence for both joyful milestones and difficult conversations.

Whether watching the New York Yankees, hosting family gatherings at the beach, or presiding over holidays, Marcella's love for her family was unmistakable. She constantly reminded those around her that time spent together was life's greatest gift.

Marcella is survived by her sons, Scott Viciana (Carrie) and Ken Viciana (Amanda), and her six beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Olivia, Javeria, Danilo, Eva, and Crosby.

She will be deeply missed for her guidance, her support, her calm and steady presence, her unmistakable New York accent, and the quiet strength she shared so generously with those she loved.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10 AM at Daytona Memorial Park located at 1425 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marcella's memory to Mission MSA or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research .
