Manuel A. Portell Jr. age 22 of Deland was tragically taken from us on April 30 2011. A 4:30 gathering until the 6:30 Funeral Service held in his honor will be Thursday May 12 2011 at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Manuel was born in York Pennsylvania to Manuel Portell Sr and Yvonne Bordonada. He was an affectionate young gentleman who worked as a bartender for Roxy's and attended Stetson University. Manuel was an adoring attentive father who loved children writing poetry listening to music playing in the ocean and great ligature. He was generous with his time and his wisdom made all those around him laugh and filled a room when he smiled. His mother preceded him in death and he leaves behind to cherish his memory his baby girl Gabriella his Grandmother who raised him; Iris M. Rosa his father and sister and his close loving family; Betsey Lagares and her children Andrew and Anthony and many other extended family and friends.
