Malcolm Jeffrey Sutherland "Jeff", 69, passed away January 22, 2016 at Halifax Medical Center with his wife Bonnie by his side. He was born August 25, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois to James and Margaret Sutherland. Jeff graduated from Peoria High School in 1964. An avid golf player in his youth, he got a hole in one on Madison Golf Course in Peoria. After studying at Southern Illinois University, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 - 1969. He served with Aco, 3rd tank battalion in 1967 at Con Thein, Vietnam, where his unit received a Presidential Citation for the multiple conflicts they endured. He returned to Peoria and began work in sales. Being a natural salesman, he left to sell timeshare in the Caribbean, working his way to Florida. Where he settled in Daytona Beach and worked locally. He was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Bonnie, step-daughter Tara(Seth) Hakala, Step-Grandchildren, Kaitlyn Setzer and Bailey Hakala of Daytona Beach; sisters, Hannah Sutherland of Daytona Beach, Peggy(Gary) Anderson of Peoria, Illinois,his niece, Rachel Anderson of Champaign, Illinois and his loveable Bengal cat companions, Winnie Pooh, Cashmere and Babu as well as a host of friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, February 4, 2016 with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors beginning at 2:30 PM.
