William Thomas Anderson 65 of Auburn Michigan and Ormond Beach FL passed away at his home on Friday October 21 2011.Funeral services with military honors will be celebrated on Tuesday; October 25th at 2:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon.
Born in Brooklyn NY and raised in Rumson NJ. William spent his years serving our country in the US Army. He was involved in the worst two years of the Tet Offensive a military campaign during the Vietnam War and went on to retire as a Major. He received his PhD in Philosophy and became a full professor and chairman of the computer science department at Northwood University in Midland MI. as well as being the owner/operator of Cimco Inc. a Computer consultant company. William was very active in his communities he was a 32nd Degree Mason he was a member of the VFW Post 3651 the American Legion Post 120 a lifetime member of the Military Officers Association a member of the Shriners the Scottish Rite the NE Michigan York Rite the Order of the Eastern Star the Knights Templar the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1263 the Sons of Norway the Rho Epsilon Fraternity. William enjoyed traveling fine food amusement parks birds watching and especially his two dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Maureen Anderson of Auburn MI and Ormond Beach FL by his son William T. Anderson II Midland Michigan his two daughters Lisa (Vincent) Vermiglio St. Peters Missouri and Kathleen (Troy) Charbeneau Virginia Beach Virginia by two sisters Noreen Anderson and Barbara Swanstrom both of Duluth Minnesota as well as six grandchildren Brandon Andrew Allison Sophia Rylee and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Anderson.
