Magda Juhasz 84 Port Orange beloved wife of Mike Juhasz (who pre-deceased her last year) passed away quietly in the arms of her daughter on October 24 2009 at 12:10 p.m. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday November 21 2009; 4:00 PM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.

Born in Budapest Hungary daughter of Magda Szeghy and Karoly Tarcsay she was a descendant of the Aufhaulters of Austria who later changed their name to Tarcsay when they immigrated to Hungary after the First World War.
Magda studied singing and acting in Budapest where she performed on stage and sang with the Hungarian Orchestra. There she met a young trombone player (Mike) who became the love of her life. They married during the Second World War and lived in the ruins of the city until the end of the war. In 1946 they were blessed with their only child Magda and began to rebuild their lives. She started a new career as an Administrative Assistant for the Muart Company in Budapest.
The Hungarian Revolution brought further upheaval when she her husband and daughter escaped the Soviet occupation in January of 1957 with only the clothes they wore. They were forced to leave everything and everyone behind as they walked in the night through the deep snow and minefields crossing the border into Yugoslavia and freedom. After a brief stay in Yugoslavia they waited in a re-settlement camp in Italy for permission to immigrate to Venezuela in 1959.
In 1973 she and her husband immigrated to the US living in Connecticut and then Georgia where she retired from Scientific Atlanta. They built their dream home in Port Orange in 1991 and settled in to enjoy their retirement. With Florida as their home they set out to discover the rest of the US and travelled extensively throughout their retirement. An out-going fun-loving companion to her many friends she always had a laugh and a story to share. She loved music and her favorite game Rummy Kub - which she usually won. She could usually be found in her kitchen and was an outstanding cook and gracious host for the many gatherings at her home.
She was the best mother one could have and sacrificed so much to ensure her daughter had the best possible life. She was devoted to her family and so very much in love with her husband of 62 years. Grandchildren were a joy but she absolutely adored her great grandchildren. They were the focus of her life in her later years. She is leaving behind her loving daughter Magda; son-in-law Mike; grandchildren Magda and Balton Aulls John Senior Robert Senior; great grandchildren Ava and Sophie Aulls and a tremendous empty space that only cherished memories can hope to fill.
