Obituary

Madlane Yanni Bishara, also known as Amira Wahba, 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday December 18, 2014 at her residence. She was born on January 14, 1918 in Fayoum, Egypt to Yanni Bishara and Bahia Griess. In 1977 she moved to Brooklyn, NY from her birthplace and in 1983 she moved to this area from Brooklyn.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday December 22, 2014 at St. George Coptic Orthodox Church, 300 N. Halifax Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL with Fr. Isaac Edwar Bassily officiating. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at 6:00PM on Monday December 22, 2014 at St. George Coptic Orthodox Church. There will also be a Gathering of Family and Friends held from 5-8 PM on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, Wadie Wahba, MD in 1953. Together they were instrumental in the public health fight against Malaria in Egypt.

She is survived by her three sons, S. (Anna) Wahba, MD of Champaign, IL, M. (Amira) Wahba, of Crofton, MD and Wahba W. (Rena) Wahba, MD of Daytona Beach, FL; Seven Grandchildren, Sophia Wahba, Alex Wahba, Andrew Wahba, Sara Wahba, Nashwa Wahba, Leila Wahba, and Deena Wahba.
Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to St. George Coptic Orthodox Church, 300 N. Halifax Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32118.

She was dedicated to her children, her family, her church and to the promise she made to her husband before he died. She was a very strong woman who always put her family first. She taught the true meaning of love to everyone who was lucky enough to have had her in their life. She will be greatly missed.
