Lyla Beth Milford was born on June 12, 1937 in Dodge City Kansas to Don and Margaret McComas. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 20, 2022, in Deland Florida. She was 85 years old.
Lyla is survived by her loving husband, David. They married in 1955 and have spent the last 67 years together. Lyla is also survived by her four sons; Randy, Don, Dave, and Mike. David and Lyla have eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She has one surviving sister, Bea and is pre-deceased by her brother, Dale.
In addition to being a busy wife and mother, Lyla was involved in many service organizations. She was an active member of Women of the Moose, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the West Volusia Shrine Club.
Crafts were a constant hobby throughout Lyla's life. She excelled at macramé, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was an outstanding cook and developed many delicious recipes. In addition Lyla was an exemplary homemaker.
Other interests include; NASCAR, car shows, square-dancing, computer games, singing and playing the organ.
David's navel career brought them to San Diego during the 1960s and 70s Lyla worked at the San Diego Stadium and Sports Arena. They returned to Dodge City Kansas after David's retirement. In 2008 David and Lyla relocated to Deland Florida.

A memorial service for Lyla will be held this Saturday, October 15, 10:30 am at Stetson Baptist Church.
