Luke P. Hanley age 98 of Port Orange went to be with our Lord on Monday February 13th 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday February 18th at First Christian Church of Daytona Beach 326 S. Palmetto Avenue. Daytona Beach officiated by Pastor David Troxler. Burial services will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.

Luke was born on January 25th 1914 in Fort Gay West Virginia to the late John and Lora Hanley. Following his graduation from Winchester High School Luke married the love of his life Lilian Hanley. They were married in 1934 and shared more than 72 wonderful years together. Luke enlisted in the United States Marines shortly after his marriage and served his country proudly during WWII. He later worked as a Sales Representative for Heileman Brewing Company in Ohio. Luke and Lilian moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1979 after he retired.

Luke was a devoted husband father grandfather great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He had a gentle caring nature that was sincere and understanding. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lilian and son John.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Hershel Hanley grand children Kevin Newnam (wife Hollie) Dave Hanley (wife Shelly) Joe Newnam and Jeanne Jackson. He also leaves behind six great grand children and five great-great grandchildren.
