Luis A. Torrado, 82, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was born on July 5, 1943, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Luis served honorably in the United States Marines, retired from the United States Army, and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class during his 30 years of service. He served during the Vietnam War through Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and was proud to be a part of the Transportations Companies both in Puerto Rico and in Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications. Luis not only served his country, but his community as a New York City Housing Police Officer where he was the recipient of the New York City Housing Police Medal of Honor.
Luis is survived by his loving wife of over 32 years, Dr. Emily Cortes-Torrado; son, Eric Paul Torrado (wife, Tara Torrado); daughter, Angela Torrado-Duncan (husband, Brian Duncan); daughter, Heather Marie Torrado; daughter, Eva Teree Nowotynski (husband, Kacper Nowotynski); son, Joshua Alexander Torrado; daughter-in-law, Linda Torrado; brother, Angel Louis Torrado (wife, Doris Torrado); brother, James Torrado (wife, Donna Torrado); granddaughter, Marcella Rodriguez; grandson, Nicholas Torrado; granddaughter, Caitlin Torrado; granddaughter, Gabriella Conners; granddaughter, Kyra Conners; grandson, Kyle Torrado; granddaughter, Brianna Duncan; grandson, Kallen Nowotynski; granddaughter, Ellie Nowotynski; great granddaughter, Ansley Roche; and other extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Marc Richard Torrado and former spouse, Maria Martinez Torrado.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery located at 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, Florida 32754. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church located at 5400 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, Florida 32137. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service. The family has requested everyone honor Luis by wearing something in his favorite color, green.
In lieu of flowers, plants are requested or donations made to the St. Thomas Building Fund at stechurch.org Arrangements have been entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast.
