Luis N.
Muniz Mendez
Oct 23, 1937 — Nov 2, 2021
Deltona
Luis Muniz-Mendez died peacefully on November 2nd, 2021, at the age of 84.
Luis was an incredible man, someone that everyone could depend and one that would never back away from a challenge.
Luis was born in Moca, Puerto Rico and a resident of Deltona, FL, United States at the time of his death. He moved from Puerto Rico to the United States at the early age of 17, spending over 40 years in Newark, New Jersey where he met and married the love of his life, Maria Muniz. There they raised 3 children: Nancy, Louis and Doris and as each of them started their own families, helped them with their children. After working 40+ years at Red Devil he retired, moving from Newark to Deltona where they dedicated their lives to helping the family, their children and grandchildren.
Following the death of his wife, Maria, he spent his days spreading joy and wisdom for his loved ones through his actions which could be summed up as a million little things. He made sure that no one needed to worry... whether that be taking care of a sick child, after school pickup, bringing the dogs in, lawncare, home or appliance repairs. He was always on the move and would take care of anything that was asked of him with no hesitation or complaints.
Luis wasn't a man of many words but had many interest and talents. He was a self-proclaimed "arm wrestling champion", loved to bowl and play baseball and was a sports fanatic. He loved the Mets
Luis was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Maria Muniz. He is survived by his children: Nancy Mendez; Louis Muniz; and Doris Muniz. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Ennette, Carlos, Jessica, Ramon and Genedi, and seven great grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Aniyah, Briley, Isabella, Zoey and Matthew, all of whom brought him much joy. Luis was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and we know that he is gracing his presence on the heavenly stage and will be looking over us always.
We love you. Always and Forever, Papa.
